The Phoenix Challenge: Dogleg Restarts & Tire Preservation
Phoenix Raceway is famous for its unique 1-mile tri-oval layout. Drivers face one of the most nerve-wracking maneuvers in all of sim racing: the dogleg restart. Expect 3-wide and even 4-wide chaos as trucks cut deep onto the apron trying to gain precious track position into Turn 3.
With 140 laps ahead, tire management will play a massive factor. Managing right-front tire wear through the long sweeps of Turns 1 and 2 will separate the contenders from the pretenders when late-race pit strategy unfolds.
Chase Championship Implications
With points leader Benjamin Lacy holding a strong position, contenders behind him like Scott Sanderson, Joshua Adams, Kevin Foster, and road-course victor Nick Nickerson are hungrier than ever to grab victory in the desert. Meanwhile, the bubble battle around 10th position remains razor-thin with Johnathon Platt and Eddie Hagigh separated by just a handful of points!
